He must understand symbols and speak in words.
He must contemplate the particular in terms of the general, and touch abstract and concrete in the same flight of thought.
He must study the present in the light of the past for the purposes of the future.
No part of man’s nature or his institutions must be entirely outside his regard.
He must be purposeful and disinterested in a simultaneous mood, as aloof and incorruptible as an artist, yet sometimes as near to earth as a politician.

That is my favorite quote by John Maynard Keynes. He shared his opinion on what makes a master economist.
It's not super tricky to become a UX designer. Might be much easier than becoming an economist.
But how to become a good designer? That is the question I want to explore myself.
I'm Wen, a UX designer in Toronto, Ontario.
I’m originally from Dalian, China. I forever love the beach in my hometown.
I love movie, literature, and music.
As an INFP, I love spending time with myself as much as helping others achieving their goals.
I spent 5 years in California when my character was reshaped by the sunlights and passionate people.
I smile a lot and enjoy learning from diverse industries and finding inspirations in the daily life.
I find it extremely rewarding to design accessible products and build supportive and enjoyable experience for everyone.
When I was little, I observed people doing things and tried to imitate them, focusing on their every movement to make sure it was the best way. In my world, it was the virtual construction workers who built the new world in my Windows XP machine. At that time, I didn't know it could be my career.
For my undergraduate, I studied Information Systems and Computer Science. At San Jose State University. I became adept in coding languages and information systems as well as project management. However, the concept of business services was too abstract and could not bring me satisfaction. So I found the interdiscipline, Human Computer Interaction, to understand human and their behavior patterns. Graduated in 2020, my background and passion to serve people with technologies led me to User Experience Design.
As a master student at the University of Toronto, I finally found the passion to delve into a question day and night. During my intern at iQiYi, I had access to precious information of the global users, as tried to come up with universal, adaptable solutions within the constraints of a for-profit business. I enjoy throwing ideas back and forth with project managers, developers, and designers. My instinct to seek for evidence always led me to research the audience and behavior data. My manager was supportive enough to offer me the new role and play a part in the initiation of the first global user research team.
I found my dream career. I want to build a bridge between people and technology, a borderless bridge where people can connect with each other confidently.
My background in business and IT make me precise and efficient. The process to retrieve insights from user research is fascinating to me. While my personality, a romantic daydreamer, gives me the inspiring ideas that could be the start of something new.
I’m a picky designer to myself. I can be a supportive teammate and an enthusiastic friend.
